Our appointment guidelines are designed to enable us to run an efficient and successful practice while minimising any inconvenience to our patients and their families. With this is mind please refer to the following:
Outside of School/Work Hours Appointments: As the majority of our patients are school aged children it is not possible to see every patient outside of school/work hours. We schedule our longer appointments during school hours and shorter appointments before and after school hours. By doing so, this allows us to see as many patients as possible during these peak times.
Late Arrivals: Because our schedule is carefully booked, we may have to reschedule your appointment if you arrive more than 10 minutes late.
Cancellations/Rescheduled Appointments: As we are booked 6-8 weeks in advance for our peak appointment times, inserting extra patients into the schedule would disrupt our other patient’s appointments and our ability to see everyone in a timely manner. For this reason, it is important to try and keep your scheduled appointments to ensure you can be seen at a time that is suitable for you. If you wish to reschedule your appointment at short notice you may need to be seen during our off peak times between 10am–2pm to avoid prolonging your treatment.
Missed Appointments: Not attending your routine adjustments may affect your treatment outcome and extend the length of time you are in treatment. All missed appointments will be rescheduled as soon as possible in order to avoid delaying your treatment. Hence, it is sometimes necessary to rebook your appointment in our off peak times between 10am-2pm.
Change of Orthodontist: If a scheduled appointment is cancelled at short notice we may rebook your appointment with the soonest available orthodontist. This also applies to any emergency appointments scheduled at the practice so that we can see you as soon as possible. Every orthodontist is a specialist orthodontist to provide you with the highest level of care.
Emergency Appointments: There are very few issues with an appliance or braces that constitute a real ‘emergency’. If you find you are having an issue or any discomfort with your braces please contact the practice so that we can determine whether you need to be seen prior to your next appointment. If a patient is experiencing discomfort an urgent repair appointment will be made at a time when an orthodontist or oral health therapist is available.
Cancellation Fee: Please note cancellations within 48hrs of your appointment may incur a fee prior to scheduling another time.
